120+ dedicated study spaces across Floors 2–10 of the SFESOM building

Overview

The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine building features more than 120 dedicated study spaces distributed across Floors 2 through 10. Rooms range from intimate 2-person pods to 10-person collaborative suites, all equipped with modern display technology, sound-attenuating glass walls, and high-speed wired and wireless network access.

Study rooms are available to current University of Utah students, faculty, and staff. Reservations are made through the university's room scheduling system using your uNID. Walk-in use is permitted when a room is not reserved; reserved rooms are held for 15 minutes before being released.

How to Reserve a Room

  1. Log in to the Scheduling PortalVisit rooms.utah.edu and sign in with your uNID and password.
  2. Select the SFESOM BuildingFrom the building dropdown, choose "Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine."
  3. Filter by Room Type and CapacityUse the filters to narrow by Group Study, Individual Carrel, or Quiet Zone, and select your needed capacity.
  4. Choose a Date and Time SlotSelect an available block. Rooms can be reserved in 1-hour increments, up to 2 hours per booking.
  5. Confirm Your BookingReview your selection and submit. A confirmation email with a calendar invite will be sent to your @utah.edu address.

Room Use Policies

Facilities Use Policy — Study Rooms
  • Reservations are limited to 2 hours per booking; extensions permitted if no conflict exists.
  • A maximum of 3 active reservations per uNID may be held at any time.
  • No-show policy: rooms released after 15 minutes if the reservation holder has not checked in.
  • Food and beverages permitted; covered containers required.
  • Rooms must be left in the same condition as found. Whiteboards should be erased before departure.
  • Rooms may not be reserved for commercial tutoring or activities unrelated to University coursework or research.
