Our Commitment
The SFESOM building was designed to be fully accessible from the ground up, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and University of Utah accessibility standards. The University endeavors to ensure its campus and programs are accessible and to provide reasonable accommodations that remove barriers for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Automatic doors at all main entrances and accessible restrooms on every floor
Wheelchair-accessible routes to all classrooms, labs, study rooms, and offices
Accessible elevators serving all 12 floors and both parking levels
Assistive listening systems in all lecture halls and large conference rooms
Height-adjustable tables and desks in designated study and classroom spaces
Accessible parking stalls near the main entrance and skyway connection
Requesting Accommodations
StudentsContact the Center for Disability and Access (CDA) to register and request academic accommodations, including testing, notetaking, or classroom adjustments.
Faculty & StaffContact the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX (OEO) to request workplace accommodations such as ergonomic equipment or schedule adjustments.
Patients & VisitorsAsk any staff member or the lobby security desk for immediate assistance, including wheelchair loans, interpreter coordination, or accessible route directions.

Accessible Parking & Transportation
Designated accessible parking stalls are located on Level 1 of the adjacent Health Sciences Parking Structure, closest to the covered skyway into the building's main entrance. Accessible drop-off is available at the front entrance loop. The UofU Campus Shuttle Route 6 (Health Sciences) is equipped with wheelchair lifts and stops directly outside the building.

Something Not Working?
- Broken automatic door, elevator outage, or blocked route: Report to the building security desk or Facilities immediately so it can be flagged for repair.
- Accommodation not being met: Contact the Center for Disability and Access (students) or OEO (employees) listed to the right.
